Coginov, a leader in information technology (IT) and semantic products, is pleased to announce the delivery of a document repository solution whose objective is to automatically capture and ensure the management of all document exchanges within the CPEEP electronic records.
The Comité paritaire de l’entretien d’édifices publics (CPEEP), Montreal area, is an organization under the responsibility of the Government of Quebec to supervise the observation of the Decree respecting building service employees in the greater Montreal area.
According to Jeannot Chapdelaine, CEO of Coginov, "In addition to using the 'Semantic API' Coginov platform, this major project required more than 1,000 hours of professional services for the architecture and development of the solution.” "This project was delivered in the fall to the client’s satisfaction and this, in compliance with the expected quality standards.
We are therefore pleased that we were able to count on the confidence of the CPEEP to achieve this strategic project”, he added.
At the origin of the project, the main business need of the CPEEP was the organization and management of all the information and electronic documents integrated into its business processes. Volumetry presented major challenges since the organization produces more than 100,000 documents of all kinds every year. A document can be a court judgement, a form (140 forms), outsourcing surveys, infringement reports, claims and notices, complaint records, etc. It can also be an e-mail, a Word or Excel document, a PDF file, etc.
The Coginov 'Semantic API' technology enables the management of more than 75 types of file format, including the main ones (Word, PDF, Excel, etc.).
The benefits of the project for the client are:
- Reduced operating and automation costs (reduction of up to 40% of the total cost of document management, including the management of paper, printing, manual filing, etc.)
- Increased efficiency (increased productivity through automated workflows based on the documents contents and types)
- Facilitated access and mitigated risks (document available at anytime and anywhere, unlike the paper version that can be easily lost)
- Compliance with new applicable regulations (Retention and preservation of information)
- Maintenance of a competitive advantage (through the continuous management, analysis and optimization of the document-related functions)
- Workflow automation and efficiency gains (combination of files of documents for printing when preparing criminal cases).
According to Marc-André Roy, VP Sales and Marketing at Coginov, “This project is fully in keeping with Coginov’s corporate strategy, which is to complete a major product change. The concerted actions taken by Coginov are intended to promote the marketing and deployment of its range of “specialty semantic products. The Big Data market as well as that of semantics are expanding”, he added. According to Gartner, the Natural Language Processing (NLP) market will enjoy rapid growth, rising from 3.8 billion last year to 9.8 billion in 2018. “Coginov, with its range of products, is therefore positioned to serve this market and this, both at the national and international level.”
About the CPEEP
The Comité paritaire de l'entretien d'édifices publics, Montreal area, is an organisation under the responsibility of the Government of Quebec to supervise the observation of the Decree respecting building service employees in the Montreal region. Its characteristic is to be administered by a Board of directors comprised of an equal number of union representatives and employers of the public building cleaning industry. In 2013, the Joint Committee’s database contained more than 16,000 active workers as well as 1,348 contractors identified within the territory covered by the Decree, totalling a payroll of $ 313.5 million per year. The primary purpose of the Joint Committee is therefore to ensure that the Decree is well respected by the entire public building cleaning industry. This objective serves both the union interests aimed at the protection of the rights of the workers as well as those of the employers in making sure that the wages and working conditions of the employee(s) are not a competitive factor between companies, which promotes a healthy competition.
Coginov is a leading provider of semantic technologies that are geared to maximize information management performance and quality. Founded in 2002, the uniqueness of the company is based on several years of Associative Semantic Memory (ASM) research and development to create a revolutionary rule-based semantic engine powered by Natural Language Processing (NLP), Lexical categorization, and other proprietary heuristics that fuel Coginov’s suite of products. From its headquarters in Canada, along with offices in the United States and in France, Coginov customers include some of the world leaders such as Bombardier, Cirque du Soleil, ICAO and Desjardins, to name a few.
